2.5M Euro SAMPLE III Project Officially Announced
EASA has officially announced that funding for the SAMPLE III project has been agreed. The project, lead by Rolls-Royce, is worth 2.5M Euros in total, and partners include DLR, ONERA, University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and Sheffield University.
The project will contribute to the development of a new aircraft engines particulate matter certification requirement and standard. It will complement or supersede the current smoke number standard which is inappropriate for assessing the impact on human health and climate change.
The project follows on from SAMPLE I and SAMPLE II, both hosted at GTRC.
